About this plant

The sweet gum has glossy, star-shaped leaves that turn shades of red, orange and purple before they fall. Grown as a standard, with a clear stem and a head of branches, it makes a handsome specimen for lawns, driveways and avenues. In winter the corky bark on older branches adds interest.
